First “Renaissance Hotels” concept in Portugal equipped with Vicaima solutions

2024-06-24

Marriott Group Unit establishes itself in Porto to offer 163 rooms with simplicity, sophistication, and cutting-edge construction solutions.

Marriott Bonvoy, which includes more than 30 hotel brands worldwide, celebrates the debut of the “Renaissance Hotels” brand in Portugal. A new leisure and business design concept emerges in the heart of the city of Porto, recently distinguished as the "best metropolitan seaside destination" at the World Travel Awards 2024.

Located in the heart of the city, the “Renaissance Porto Lapa” is a five-star hotel, the result of an investment of approximately 56 million euros. This luxurious project features 163 rooms and suites, modern meeting rooms with natural light and capacity for 600 guests, a restaurant, two bars, and an infinity heated pool on the rooftop. The hotel is equipped with various Vicaima interior door solutions and wall panels, ensuring and enhancing the quality and sophistication throughout its luxurious decor.

For the hotel room entrances, the Portaro® Inverse EI30 AC41dB was selected – a fire and acoustic door solution that allows the door to be flush with the frame or panels. For the communicating doors within the interiors, the Portaro® EI30 AC33dB was installed. Multiple Portaro® fire door solutions EI30 and FD60, as well as the Portaro® Swing Door, which facilitates easy circulation between spaces, were also integrated into numerous common areas. All these technical solutions are certified by internationally accredited entities. Designed with the necessary safeguarding of spaces in mind, they play a crucial role in the fire safety plan, ensuring the tranquility and protection required for all guests.

As interior design becomes increasingly crucial in the value proposition of a hotel concept, the finishes are carefully selected. At Renaissance Porto Lapa, the choice fell on Dekordor® HD White laminate and Naturdor® Walnut crown cut real veneer. Together, they contribute to a truly remarkable decor, alongside pastel pink tones, champagne golds, and petrol blue accents inspired by some of Porto icons.

Additionally, the creation of a new and rehabilitated green and inclusive space, which can be used by all the city’s inhabitants, stands out, and will be “a place for new and happy memories for all who visit this hotel and this city.”

Vicaima, also committed to sustainable practices, offers a wide range of FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) certified products. This certification ensures that the materials used come from responsibly managed forests, reinforcing the company’s commitment to sustainability.
