The Altis Porto Hotel, which opened at the end of 2024, is the sixth property of the Altis Hotels group in the country, expressing an innovative concept of hospitality combining luxury, design and well-being. Located in a privileged area, next to the Palácio de Cristal Gardens and with panoramic views over the Douro River, the five-star hotel offers a full experience blending the serenity of the surroundings and the energy of the city.

The architecture and interior design project reflect a contemporary and timeless approach, exploring a palette of subtle and elegant colours inspired by the landscape. This commitment to detail and to aesthetic harmony resulted in the appointment of Vicaima as a strategic partner, recognised for its quality, functionality and full integration into the hotel’s overall concept.

Vicaima Solutions: Quality and sophistication in highlight

The Altis Porto Hotel integrated a range of Vicaima products, recognised for their technical excellence and innovative design, which perfectly align with the project’s concept of luxury and functionality.

Of special note was the installation of Portaro® solutions, which combine door, frame and accessories in a single piece, fitted both at the entrances to the rooms and in the common areas. One of the selected performances is the Portaro® Inverse EI30 AC45dB, which provides fire resistance for up to 30 minutes and 45 decibels of acoustic insulation, combining technical performance with sophisticated design which allows for the creation of continuous, straight surfaces, thus enhancing the visual harmony of the spaces.

The Portaro® EI30 and EI60 were also installed, ensuring fire resistance for up to 30 and 60 minutes respectively, and contributing to the security and functionality of the hotel. Additionally, the Portaro® Double Action was chosen to facilitate circulation between the different spaces, providing a practical and fluid transition, while the Portaro® contributes to the harmonious look and functionality of the different areas.

With regard to coatings, Vicaima emphasised the unique identity of the Altis Porto Hotel with customised, high-quality solutions which were carefully applied to all eight room types, ranging from the Deluxe to the Penthouse Suite category. Vicaima Infinity, in an exclusive wood pattern developed for the project, harmonises the spaces with elegance and distinction. The Lacdor finish, in a customised light grey, adds modernity and luminosity to the rooms, while the Naturdor® Crown Cut Walnut evokes the genuine beauty of natural wood, creating a welcoming and sophisticated atmosphere.

With a prime location, just a few minutes from the Palácio de Cristal and close to the city’s main attractions, the Altis Porto Hotel is also distinguished by the adoption of the Altis Group’s sustainability policies, particularly in terms of energy efficiency, reducing waste and promoting recycling. These principles are shared by Vicaima, which as part of its ESG strategy is continuously implementing actions aimed at reducing its ecological footprint.

The tranquillity provided by the Douro River or city views, coupled with Vicaima’s technical solutions, are a clear example of how architecture, design and technology can converge to create hotels where guests can enjoy a memorable experience in the city centre.
